Ficus benghalensis, or Audrey, is a highly sought-after specimen tree that would fit perfectly with a modern, minimal aesthetic. This one has been trained to grow in “tree form” with a birch-like trunk and velvety, emerald green leaves. Ficus Audrey is the official tree of India, and according to legend, the tree Buddha sat under for 49 days to achieve enlightenment. It is also more forgiving and easier to care for than its cousin, the Fiddle Leaf Fig. We’ve potted this one with rich, well-draining soil in a ceramic pot with drainage hole.
LIGHT Like all Fig Trees, the Audrey prefers bright indirect light and will not tolerate full sun or low light conditions. An east facing window, or a few feet from a south or west facing window is ideal.
WATER Keep the soil fairly moist allowing the top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings, then water deeply and allow to drain completely. Mist the foliage occasionally to increase humidity.
